Mopped Floor
I finally did it. I bought a mop. I have been living in my current flat for 7 months and it was about time to wash the kitchen floor. Lately it has gotten so bad that are shoes have been making that sticking sound while walking around in there.
As you can see in the photo it was pretty damn dirty. It almost looks like a shadow from the window, but it’s not, it’s where I mopped. Crazy stuff.

Home Grown Snow Peas
We got our third pick of the season this week with some great looking snow peas. That means we have grown are own lettuce, mushrooms and snow peas now, with some tomatoes ripening as we speak. Our little vege garden is coming along nicely. The only problem now is we are running out of room. Might have to get off my ass one of these weekends and weed the backyard so we can set up a proper garden back there.
Ivy made a delicious stir fry with the snow peas, some bacon, egg and cabbage. Try not to drool on your keyboard!

Beer Popsicle
It was Sean’s last day in the flat on Friday, so we had a couple of drinks. The Powa Trippa was nice enough to give Sean a 12 pack of Steiny Pure which we got stuck into straight away. They were still warm so Sean stuck a couple in the freezer and the rest in the fridge. The ones in the freezer were meant to be for quick consumption, but after opening the freezer this morning I found that he had forgotten about them. As you can see they exploded and lined the bottom of the freezer in beer slushy. Not wanting good beer to go to waste I tried to eat the beer popsicle that was left inside the broken bottle. I managed a couple of bites, but couldn’t finish it.

Mustard Anyone
Living in a flat with a bunch of other people can be a great experience, but it can also bring up some problems. At our flat we each cook dinners for oursleves, which means that we all have our own food. This of course has lead to a very cramped fridge. Food gets piled up on top off each other. Food gets lost for days only to be found again when it has metamorphosed into a green spongy substance. I swear a container of cut pineapple fermented into some sort of pineapple liquor in the bowels of the fridge.
All this lead to me purchasing another fridge over the weekend. Now the flat has two fridges, and the new one is all fridge no freezer, so we’ve got an abundance of shelf space now. In the process of transferring some of the contents into the new fridge we discovered a few surprises including six half empty containers of mustard.

Flat Lounge
One of our flatmates, Sean, will be leaving us in early February to return to Australia. This leaves us with a room to fill in our flat. I have already posted an ad on
trademe, but I thought it couldn’t hurt to let it be know here as well.

Can you see him?
Woke up this morning feeling older… but my back was feeling a lot better, so I headed for the shower to get ready for work. Imagine my surprise when I noticed a new companion joining me in the bathroom. You probably can’t see him in this photo unless you look very closely. Click the link to see a close up of my new shower buddy.

Classic Sean moment! This final "incident" pretty much sums the boy up:I personally think it
was his ultimate put on:he knew the steinies were in the fridge, but decided to provide us with one
more gag…the joke may in fact,be on us…
Anyway he was a top bloke, and once we both hit the south seas islands, they're be plenty of riffing
and maybe some spliffing…
I wouldn’t put it past him.
