Police on Twitter

Seems like every man and his dog are on Twitter now a days, and that includes businesses. Everyone wants to get on the band wagon and be part of the social media buzz and yet I was still surprised this morning when I discovered that the Christchurch Police Department have their own twitter account.

They are using it as a news feed, sending messages about illegal happenings in my fair city. This is their last tweet to give you an idea Correction: “The 17 year old arrested for allegedly throwing the bottle that struck a lone Christchurch police officer… http://tinyurl.com/abwdzx”
